Business Development Manager – Nutrition

Synopsis

Global pharmaceutical company is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager in their Nutrition division. Only applicants that meet the minimum requirements listed below will be considered for the role.


Minimum Requirements

Minimum of 5-8 years in depth experience of the pharmaceutical/healthcare market, and distribution channels.
Minimum 3 years Sales Management experience preferably with a direct to GM reporting line. SFE experience.
Commercial experience ie Marketing, Data analysis in OTC, Nutrition, FMCG a definite advantage.
KAM Experience, with Market access knowledge an advantage.
Knowledge of the Export Market a definite advantage.
Established Relationships with the Food Directorate in Government.

Minimum Skills Required:
Data analysis skills and ability to formulate actionable strategies
Effective strategic planning abilities, sound business and financial acumen
Ability to build effective value arguments for client products to target audience
Ability to work cross functionally
Good communication and presentation skills
Effective trend predictions based on relevant data, history and market
Must be able to support sales and marketing/gather market insights/sales operations, analytics and other commercial technical ability
Above average computer skills.

Knowledge / Education Required:
Tertiary Qualification in a science, business, business management, or related background highly desirable.
Minimum of 6-8 years in depth knowledge of the OTC/Healthcare market and distribution channels at a management level.

Estimated Percentage of Travel: +/- 20%Travelling


Role Description

Business Excellence:
To ensure an objective review of key metrics in sales and marketing by:

Maximizing our Sales Force Resources via SFE, identifying opportunities for improvement in efficiencies.
Motivating our sales teams appropriately
Assisting the Commercial Manager in establishing the correct sales targets for our sales representatives
Monitoring and analyzing top level sales data by sector, and reporting to role players accordingly to ensure achievement and maximization of sales goals
Ensuring that the division constantly reviews latest technology and ensures all systems available to sales and marketing teams remain updated and fully functional
Planning of Sales Conferences/Sales Meetings

Development of the Export Market:
Assume responsibility to grow our presence in the countries where the division currently does business
To develop, build and maximize the clients presence in key countries where the division currently does business through investigation and if necessary changes of our current business models and product mix.
Focus on Namibia, Botswana, Kenya, Mauritius.

Contracting and Tendering/State Market:
Staying abreast of Government Tender Business
Ensuring the company is aware of tenders and bid in a timeous manner
Responsibility to ensure the client submit their products on all available tenders, and that the client complies with regulations for tender submissions
Driving utilization of clients products on all tenders – full responsibility for State business
Building strong relationships with key government decision makers in Nutrition as well as staying abreast of changes in legislation as well as potential opportunity

Monitoring and Feedback:
Constantly assess effectiveness and ROI of tactical initiatives implementation
Get feedback from sales force and other key external/internal stakeholders
Monitor competitor activity and strategy and benchmarking
Proactively monitor key data for feedback and propose strategic planning/tactics adjustment
Involve General Manager in all key decision making and provide ongoing feedback on any issues/achievements on an ongoing basis and formal feedback, on mutually agreed KPI’s during monthly one on one sessions and at monthly Leadership Meetings
Ensure all business activities comply with the company Code of Conduct, local legislation and expected ethical standards

Salary: Up to R58 000 monthly CTC plus car allowance
